Updates to SFCM Programming for 2020-2021
The coronavirus is upending all of our lives. Like everything else, Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music has been affected. We must remain flexible as we deal with the ever-changing environment. These are the adjustments to the season's programming to date:
The Junction Trio will open the season on October 3, replacing the Montrose Trio. Members of the Montrose Trio live far apart, and they were not able to get together to perform while the pandemic rages. We hope to welcome them to Syracuse soon.
On November 14, the Pacifica Quartet will perform the scheduled Higdon piece, “Voices,” but the rest of that concert will consist of two Beethoven quartets, one of the earliest (op. 18, no. 1) and one of the latest (op. 132).
Russian Renaissance has recently disbanded, so they will not be performing for us on April 17. Happily, Sybarite5, an adventurous New York City-based string quintet, will join us for the April concert.
